description:
K&KA executed a study to examine the adaptive reuse of an existing 90 year old Grain and Feed Warehouse for the future headquarters of a historical society in northern Berks County. The program includes museum exhibit space, collection conservation, meeting space, a library, administrative offices, archives, and storage. The study investigates the sensitive interface of a restored warehouse with the creation of a contemporary addition designed to accommodate functions that would be incompatible with a successful adaptive reuse of the historic structure.
