Description:
Architectural design considerations encompass issues
relative to exterior restoration and interior core
element reorganization for adaptive reuse. The original
boiler house “ruin” was maintained as a
feature courtyard entrance. Bricks were quarried from
the unused portions of the ruin artifact. Fire damage
to part of the complex required replication of
window, door, and brick detailing. Listed on the National
Register of Historic Places, the building accommodates
a central lobby entrance with elevator and open stair
and a nine car garage partially below grade. K&KA
executed all National Register form work and tax credit
applications.
